Reporter:  Tell me a little about your play.

Evandro: It is a theatrical improvising show. The scenes are created on the stage, they aren’t rehearsed or trained.  It’s everything totally new at each presentation.  Besides improvisation we also have characters that play snooker in a bar where different people in each show play improvisation games with the audience. Some people think that it is Stand-up comedy, but stand up is different because the texts are memorized, it is only needed a microphone and nothing else.

Reporter:  You said the play theme is the audience who chooses, right?

Evandro: Exactly. It’s a snooker game and at each score the audience gives us a new theme. They decide everything.

Reporter: Improvising shows have become popular what do you think will be the future of these shows?

E.vandro: Here in Brazil these shows are something new. Basically, people know only MTV’s “Quinta Categoria” and “ Improviso dos Barbichas”. In Canada, for example, people have been watching Improvising shows for over 40 years. They have very popular shows there and they do earn more. In Brazil, we have started about 10 years ago and it isn’t something that gives us much money yet.

Reporter: How did you start acting?

Evandro: We are a group of five people forming CinComédia.  We studied Physical Education together in College and the college is a place where we have a lot of corporal development, dance class, etc.

Reporter: You are a Physical education teacher. Do you intend to work only with improvising shows?

Evandro: Actually if I have the opportunity to work only with these comedies I’d love to, because I like to write texts and scripts.
